In thinking about what I might want to try and change, stop or start in 2026, I reflected on what worked well for me in 2025. That helped me come up with this list of five things I want to CONTINUE doing in 2026.
If you are interested in my goals for what I want to try and add to my life in 2026 (health wise) let me know and I'll share that, too!
DISCLAIMER - If you have not yet switched your diet to be at least 80% whole, real food, then ignore the rest of this blog post. Eating well is a foundation of health and much more important than anything else I will say here. Ok, then......
5 HABITS I'm keeping from 2025:
Nasal spray - After my interview with Nate Jones where we talked about nasal hygiene, I started to use this on average twice a day. And I really do think it helped me stay healthier this last year. Makes sense, because a lot of germs and viruses enter through the nose. Keeping it moist and hydrated helps to keep those from "sticking" or fully entering your body. And the one I use with xylitol has been shown in studies to be even more effective. I use it all the time, but especially if you are in big groups are traveling - it's a must!
Using "organ blend" ground meat. After trying for a few years to get more nutrient dense organ meats in my family's diet (I'm the only one who will willingly eat liver), I found this to be the EASIEST and best way to do it. We add 1/2 cup of liver and/or heart to a 2 pound package of ground meat. They have NO IDEA they are eating it. They can't tell!
Tip: We package it all together with our ground venison, but you could grind and package your organs separately in small amounts, and just add it in to whatever ground meat you use. This is also WAY cheaper than buying organ supplements, much more practical for a big family!

Using blue light blocking glasses in the early morning. I didn't like it when I went to the gym before the sun came up and I couldn't get natural sunlight before artificial light. So, I started wearing my red-lensed blue light blocking glasses to the gym. If someone asks, I enjoy sharing about light hygiene and hormones. lol! I have been to the gym more in the afternoons than that morning lately, but will keep this habit for early morning workouts. They can definitely be used at other times, too. This is just one time I especially loved having them.
Vibration Plate. I have seen these advertised for weight loss, and as a disclaimer, I don't think they are great for that. But they are great for helping to give your lymph flow a boost. Remember, lymph is an important part of your detox system and you don't want it stagnant. I like to turn an audio book on and just chill on there for a 10 minute session a few times a week. Movement, dry brushing and the vibration plate are all part of my lymph support routines.

Vibration plates are fun to try! Reading fiction! It might surprise you to see this on a health and wellness "keep", but it is something that has brought joy to my life this last year and therefore helped to reduce my stress. I was in a habit of just reading my bible and nonfiction. And while I still do those things, I have added fiction. I read about 40 fiction books in 2025. Going for at least 50 in 2026. I am finishing #5 for January now. I'm going to try and keep track of what I have read in Good Reads this year. If you want to join me as a friend in Good Reads, click here. If you want to join me as a friend in the Bible App, click here. Reading is wonderful for so many reasons. #staycurious #bealearner

I would absolutely LOVE to hear about any new healthy habits you are loving. OR any you think I should try!
Wishing you abundant health,
Melisha
